This month’s IndieWeb Movie Club is slightly different as there’s approximately 20 different versions of this month’s pick you could watch.
The idea for doing a ‘multiverse’ style movie club has been discussed at Hombrew Website Club a few times, and as Romeo & Juliet is one of the most remade films, with the same plot, and pretty much the same script for each one, the idea of setting the subject but not the version adds a unique twist to the month.
From a quick check of Wikipedia, there’s 22 different versions of Romeo & Juliet in different languages, settings and styles, from early silent films dating back to 1900, to the 2017 animated Gnomeo & Juliet.
To clarify, this month’s movie club doesn't include films based on Romeo & Juliet, of which there’s many so Twilight Saga: New Moon doesn’t count (this month at least).
